The KrutiDev to Unicode Converter is designed to simplify Hindi text conversion while ensuring accuracy and accessibility. Whether you are a student, government employee, or digital archivist, this tool bridges the gap between legacy KrutiDev fonts and the modern Unicode standard.
KrutiDev is widely used in offices, schools, and government institutions across India, but modern platforms such as Google Docs, Microsoft 365, and web-based applications primarily support Unicode. Without a reliable converter, transferring or digitizing KrutiDev content often leads to errors, unreadable text, or formatting loss.
Complex documents containing tables, charts, or custom formatting pose an additional challenge. Many basic converters disrupt layouts, merge cells incorrectly, or strip away styles like bold, italic, or underline. Our converter preserves both structure and style for Word (.doc/.docx) and Excel (.xls/.xlsx) files, ensuring a seamless transition from KrutiDev to Unicode or vice versa.
Beyond file conversion, our tool supports live text conversion in the browser. Users can paste KrutiDev text, type directly, or convert Unicode back to KrutiDev in real-time. The live preview ensures that formatting remains intact, allowing instant verification before exporting.
Bulk data handling was a major consideration during development. Many offices have hundreds or thousands of documents in KrutiDev. Manual conversion is time-consuming and prone to errors. Automating this process saves time, reduces mistakes, and enables efficient migration for official records, academic archives, and government forms.
Printing large Excel sheets can be cumbersome, with multiple columns spilling across pages. Our converter includes an Excel auto-layout feature, adjusting data for clean, professional printing without manual intervention.
The integrated KrutiDev font library includes over 145 fonts, covering bold, italic, underline, size variations, and opacity effects. Users can preview text in real-time, matching legacy documents accurately and maintaining design consistency.
A built-in commenting system enables feedback, issue reporting, or support requests without requiring user registration. IP-based comments allow seamless communication, helping us improve the tool based on user needs.
From a technology perspective, JavaScript powers real-time KrutiDev-Unicode mapping, while the Django backend handles secure file uploads and formatting preservation. The custom CSS interface ensures a responsive and visually appealing experience across desktops, laptops, and tablets.
Designed with scalability in mind, the converter can evolve to include batch processing, cloud integration, and advanced formatting options. This ensures continued relevance for students, professionals, and government employees managing Hindi documents.
In summary, the KrutiDev to Unicode Converter is more than a text conversion toolβit is a complete solution for modernizing Hindi documents. It preserves formatting, supports file conversions, provides live previews, and maintains an extensive font library, enabling users to work efficiently, accurately, and confidently.
In many offices and archives across India, KrutiDev is still widely used. However, the modern digital ecosystem runs on Unicode. We created this tool to bridge the gap while maintaining accuracy, speed, and formatting.

The idea for this project came from my own experience at work. In many offices and archives across India, KrutiDev is still widely used for Hindi typing. Modern systems, including Google Drive and other digital platforms, cannot properly recognize KrutiDev text as editable content.
Copy-pasting text from KrutiDev files into Google Docs or Excel would often destroy table layouts and formatting. Manual reformatting was time-consuming. Realizing that many others faced similar issues, I decided to create a solution that could handle both text and file-based conversion.
KrutiDev is a legacy Hindi font that does not comply with Unicode standards. As a result:
The KrutiDev to Unicode Converter bridges the gap between legacy Hindi fonts and modern digital systems. It empowers users to convert, print, and share documents without worrying about formatting loss, compatibility issues, or technical barriers.
